The Open Door of the Resurrection

A letter from Paul Amos, Founder of The Redeemed

This Easter season, we celebrate not just an empty tomb; we celebrate an open door. A door that no amount of performance could ever unlock, and no sin from our past could ever seal shut. Because of what Jesus did on the cross, that door stands wide open for every one of us.

Some of us have spent years trying to earn our way to God — doing enough good, being enough, performing enough. But Scripture is clear: our efforts alone will never be sufficient. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.” Salvation is not a reward for what we have done; it is a gift freely given by a God who loves us beyond our understanding.

And for those who live under the weight of the past, hear this truth: your history does not disqualify you from His grace. It never has. The very blood that Jesus shed on Calvary was shed knowing everything you have ever done. Romans 8:1 declares, “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

No condemnation whatsoever. That is the power of the resurrection working in your life today.

Easter is the proof that grace wins. The cross was not a tragedy, it was the greatest act of love the world has ever witnessed. Jesus took on every sin we have ever committed, paid a debt we could not ever pay, and rose again so that we might spend eternity with Him. Our standing before God does not rest on our performance. It rests on His.

If you have been waiting until you are “good enough” to come to God — stop waiting. You are enough in His eyes, covered by the blood of Jesus. If you have been hiding behind your past, believing it is too dark for His light to reach, look to the cross. His grace is bigger than your story!

This Easter, we pray that each of you receives the fullness of that grace not just as a doctrine, but as a living truth settled deep in your heart. You are redeemed. You are loved. You are what God made and all he desires in return.

Forging Christian brotherhood through iron sharpening iron

Why You Need Christian Brotherhood

Forging dates back as far as 4000 BC, but it truly left its mark around 1200 BC with the rise of iron. The process of forging iron is rugged, monotonous, and time-consuming. You heat the metal, beat it, reheat it, and reshape it again and again. Yet the result is stronger, more durable, and more useful than in its raw form.

Breaking Free From Performance and Shame Through Your Identity in Christ

Maybe you’ve heard the name Frank Abagnale—the real-life con artist who became famous in the film Catch Me If You Can. Before the age of 21, he successfully convinced the world that he was, among other things, an airline pilot, doctor, and lawyer. Each identity came with confidence, credentials, and applause. And for a while, the masks worked—Abagnale fooled many people. However, it eventually caught up with him. Every false identity he wore led him deeper into consequence, fear, and exposure.

Prayer and Fasting in Community Strengthens Christian Men

Who are you becoming in Christ?

Prayer and fasting are deeply personal practices, but they are not meant to be practiced only in isolation. When they are shared in community, they become places of encouragement, accountability, and deeper formation. As you discuss the following questions, resist the urge to perform or fix. Instead, listen well, speak honestly, and encourage one another. Growth begins with truth, and God often uses community for the forming work he wants to accomplish in us.
