What is Spiritual Warfare?

Wondering what spiritual warfare is? It is a hard concept to grasp because it deals with things unseen. Let's take a closer look.

Spiritual warfare can be difficult to comprehend, as it is a threat that comes from things that are unseenHowever, God warns us that the threat of spiritual warfare is real, and we should take action to protect ourselves.

What is Spiritual Warfare?

Spiritual warfare is the battle of good vs. evil. There is an ongoing spiritual war; an invisible battle raging all around us. A fierce competition for our devotion, time, energy, money, strength, thoughts, and our heart.

For those who don’t know Christ as their personal savior, the enemy will attempt to prevent salvation and encourage sinful behaviors. In Christians, forces of evil attempt to sever our connection and separate us from God.

Satan is real. The enemy is always at work in our lives, whether it is subtle or extremely obvious.

God has given us His Word, the Bible, to remind us who He is, who we are, and what is true. The Scriptures help to reveal that spiritual warfare is occurring right under our very noses.

The Battle of Good vs. Evil

God has a plan for every man, woman, and child, and that plan is life.
Satan also has a plan for every man, woman and child. And that place, in stark comparison, is death.

The Devil has an intricate plan, and it is to steal, kill, and destroy.

John 10:10 says,

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

It is easy to go about our everyday life and be completely oblivious to the big picture. The challenge is to recognize this battle.

The enemy deceives, lies, and corrupts. He brings us feelings of shame, temptation, depression, and loneliness. He kills relationships, destroys families, and corrupts churches.

The enemy is crafty and cunning. He distracts us with blatant evils in the world, like wars, terrorist attacks, sex trafficking, and mass murders.

Such large evils in our world make it harder to recognize the chronic struggles happening right in front of us, such as greed, gluttony, the decline of community, rise of individualism, falling values, fear, stress, arrogance, and prejudice.

The Devil attempts to destroy us through intimidation and isolation. He uses lies to distract and discourage us.

Take Action

  • Stay aware of Satan’s scheme
  • Live alert in this world
  • Stay close to God
He invites us to spend time in His presence. As we grow to know God’s truth, we understand what is real, and therefore also know what is false.

Take Heart

God reminds us He is always with us, fighting for us, even when we can’t see it. He has given us everything we need to overcome the enemy. He has given us the tools we need to battle spiritual warfare. God arms us with the mighty sword, the Word of God, to stand against the enemy’s lies.

The Battle Has Already Been Won

We often forget that Jesus Christ has already claimed victory. When Jesus went to the cross and died for us, the enemy was defeated. In Luke 10:19-20 Jesus himself gave us authority over the enemy. God has protected us, He has given us all we need to stand against strong.

The goal of The Redeemed is to provide men a supportive, communal environment where they can discuss their problems, worries, and feelings of “brokenness” without fear of being judged or censored. Please consider joining us for one of our live webinars

In these challenging, uncertain times, many men feel broken and alone. The Redeemed aims to show them they’re not alone in their brokenness, and that God’s love and strength are available to them too—not in spite of their human failings, but because.

If you would like to tell your story, talk, have someone listen, or surround yourself with those who have experienced brokenness and restoration, please contact The Redeemed.

Worldly Wisdom vs. Godly Wisdom

We live in an age where advice is endless, but true wisdom is rare. From well-meaning family and friends to bestselling self-help authors and polished social media influencers, wisdom seems to be everywhere. Don’t be fooled though. Not all wisdom is equal. In fact, Scripture makes it clear that when it comes to seeking wisdom, there are two competing sources at work: wisdom that comes from the world and wisdom that comes from God.

Why Godly Men Pursue Wisdom Over Knowledge

As men, we often pride ourselves on what we know. We devour books and podcasts, sharpen our skills, and chase information, believing it will make us stronger, more capable, more complete. And yet, even as knowledge helps us achieve more, many of us still feel a nagging emptiness inside. Why? Because knowledge alone was never meant to be our highest pursuit. It sharpens the mind, but it doesn’t shape the heart. It helps us make a living, but it can’t teach us how to truly live. What every man needs is godly wisdom — the kind that not only informs our decisions but transforms our character. Without it, we end up smart but not steady, informed but not truly wise. Knowledge may provide us good information, but wisdom is what helps us apply it. The truth is simple but life-changing: Wisdom will always take us further than knowledge – and here’s why:
