Where the Journey Begins
Once we accept the gifts of salvation and redemption, we are forever with God. As His children, and thanks to the cross, we are saved. But this is not where the journey ends—rather, this is where the most important journey begins. How will we know the path to take? Who will support us?
First and foremost, God has called us into a loving and deep personal relationship with Him. We were designed by God to be in complete communion with Him, and to follow His path for us. We are also called on to be a part of a community to assist us in this journey. God promises us that when we come together, He will be present.

How comforting this is, the knowledge that God is present with us because we are in community. He wants us not only to learn from Him, but to realize that fellowship with others helps to transform who we are. God wants for us to further develop in our faith and our walk with Him by coming together with others in His name. Each one of us can both impact others and be developed ourselves.
- “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”
—Proverbs 27:17
As stated in Psalm 23, “The Lord is my Shepherd”—therefore, I have my master who loves me, and I am also a member of his flock. The flock works together and follows the lead of the shepherd. Why is this so important? What does God want for us through the idea of community?
- “May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.”

God is well aware that His Gospel is more than one person can take on alone. He has made it clear that we are not all alike, and despite us being one body, with one mind, we have different roles. Despite these differences, God reassures us that by living together with a single voice for Him, we can live at peace.

When I formed The Redeemed, it was with the idea of God’s call to community. As men, we often shy away from deeper relationships, both with God and with our fellow man. But my challenge to you is this: How different could your life be if you lived in relationship with God, and sought unity with other men? I believe that without having both of these, our hearts will continue to feel something is missing, and our lives will not be fulfilled. Therefore, I issue you an invitation: Join us on this journey, and together we can further glorify our Father.
